In-App Notifications provide you with important information regarding product updates and Octopi announcements.
Before you begin
The following permission must be enabled to allow users to access the In-app Notifications feature.
- Notifications: Read - Users can view notifications.
If a user cannot access the Notifications panel, their role may not have the required permissions. Contact the Admin user on your team to enable the following permissions for their role.
Tip: Review our guides on Adding and removing permissions and Managing roles for detailed steps on managing roles and permissions.
If your Admin user cannot add or edit permissions, please contact our Customer Success Team to request the required permissions.
New notifications alert
The Notification Bell is always available on the top bar in Octopi.
When you see the red dot displaying on the Notification Bell, that means there is a new unread notification available. Click the bell to view a short excerpt of the new message.
Reading notification messages
In the Notifications dropdown panel., click Read More to view the full message in the Notifications inbox.
After reading a notification message it will no longer appear in the Notifications dropdown panel.
Mark as read
If you'd prefer to clear a notification out of your Notifications dropdown panel without reading the full message, you can click Mark as read.
You can always read the notification later in the Notifications inbox.
Viewing past notifications
Even if you have no unread notifications, you can click View all Notifications to navigate to the Notifications inbox page. Here you can read the all past messages, view images or videos, and access other linked content.
Click the excerpt of any past notification in the left side bar menu to read the full message.
